Romans 12:2
"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will."

As Christians, we are called to be in the world but not of the world. This means that while we live in this world, we should not conform to its values and standards. One area where this is particularly challenging is in fashion, as the fashion industry often promotes clothing that is revealing and sexually suggestive.

However, as Christians, we can choose to be ourselves and create modest fashion trends that are both expressive and unique. Modesty does not mean that we have to dress in frumpy or outdated clothing. Rather, we can embrace our creativity and express our personalities through fashion, while still adhering to our values.

One way to create modest fashion trends is to focus on clothing that does not reveal our bodies in a sexual way. This means choosing clothing that covers our bodies in a tasteful and stylish manner. For example tees, hoodies and tops with a looser/relaxed fit, baggy tops, or tops with higher necklines. By doing so, we can create a fashionable look that is both modest and still on-trend.

Another way to create modest fashion trends is to incorporate our personal style into our clothing choices. As Christians, we are called to be set apart, and to be the salt and light of the earth. By embracing our individuality and expressing ourselves through what we wear, we can create looks that are inventive and lead the culture. We can experiment with different colors, textures, and patterns to create a style that is uniquely our own.

Though modesty is not just about the clothes we wear, our outward appearance matters - as it is often the first thing some people may see. How we present ourselves can be a witness that either leads or repels others to Jesus Christ as believers.

In all, as Christians, we can choose by focusing on clothing that covers, incorporating our personal /identity, and being mindful of our presentation, we can honor God and lead others. Let us embrace our creativity and individuality, while still adhering to our values outlined in God's word and being set apart from the world.
